Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this WWE Rhode Island thing. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I heard folks talkin’ about it down at the store.
Seems like there’s gonna be some wrestlin’ show, you know, like those fellas on TV, all muscled up and grunting. They call it WWE, somethin’ like that. And it’s comin’ to Rhode Island, that little state up north. They say it’s gonna be at some place called the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence. Sounds fancy, huh?
- They’re sellin’ tickets, I hear. You gotta buy ’em if you wanna go see the show. Ticketmaster, that’s the name they mentioned. Said you can get ’em online or somethin’. I ain’t got no computer, so I guess I’m outta luck.
- This thing is happenin’ on August 26th, 2024. That’s a Monday night. They call it Monday Night RAW. Raw what? Raw meat? I dunno, these young folks and their fancy names.
- It’s been a while since they had one of these things in Providence. Folks are sayin’ it’s been a long absence. Guess they finally decided to come back, huh?
Now, I ain’t never been to one of these wrestlin’ matches myself. Seems kinda loud and rowdy for my taste. But my grandson, he’s all excited about it. Keeps talkin’ ’bout seein’ his favorite wrestlers in person. Says it’s gonna be electrifying. Electrifyin’? Like lightnin’? I hope nobody gets hurt.
They say Rhode Island is a place with lots of history and culture. Well, I guess wrestlin’ counts as culture these days, huh? It ain’t like the old days, that’s for sure. Back then, we had dances and picnics. Now it’s all about watchin’ people pretend to fight.
Providence seems like a busy place. They got all sorts of things goin’ on there. Besides this wrestlin’ show, they got hockey, too. Providence Bruins, they call ’em. And they got fancy suites and group events. Sounds like a place for rich folks, not for the likes of me.
Someone told me that this WWE stuff ain’t even real fightin’. It’s more like a show, a play or somethin’. They got stories and everything, like them soap operas on TV. But they still gotta be careful, ’cause they can get hurt if they don’t do them moves right. Heard some folks even died doin’ this stuff. Scary, ain’t it?
One thing’s for sure, you can’t just walk in and become a wrestler. You gotta go to some special school, learn how to fall and do all them fancy moves. They don’t hire just anybody. You gotta have experience, they said.
And speaking of wrestlers, there’s this fella named Flair. He was a big deal back in the day, they tell me. Heard he joined the WWF, which is what they called WWE back then, in 1991. Heenan, that’s another name they mentioned. Guess he was the one who told everyone Flair was comin’. These names, they go in one ear and out the other for me.
So, if you’re into this wrestlin’ thing, I guess you should go get yourself a ticket. Go see these fellas in action at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. It’s in Providence, Rhode Island, on August 26th. Remember that. And don’t forget to bring your earplugs, it’s probably gonna be loud. Me? I’ll stick to my porch swing and a glass of iced tea. That’s excitin’ enough for this old lady.
They talk about La Salle Square too, sounds like a place to be if you’re going to the show. They got all kinds of instructions about the place, must be important. As for me, I’ll stay home and watch my stories. This wrestling thing seems too complicated for me, but if you want some action, Providence is the place to be, especially on August 26th at the Amica Mutual Pavillion. Get your tickets and have a good time.
So, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. WWE, Rhode Island, Amica Mutual Pavilion, August 26th. Tickets at Ticketmaster. Providence. Monday Night RAW. Hope you got all that, ’cause I ain’t sayin’ it again.
