That day, I heard, WWE is coming to Washington DC! My grandson, he’s all excited, jumping around like a monkey. He kept saying, “WWE, WWE!” I said, “What’s that?” He told me it’s wrestling, like them big fellas on TV, throwing each other around. Oh boy, sounds rough!
He showed me on his little phone, it’s called Friday Night SmackDown. Sounds like some kind of showdown, like in them old cowboy movies. He says it’s at the Capital One Arena. Big place, I reckon. I remember when they built that place, used to be something else, can’t recall what now. This is on August 23, 2024, he said. That’s a long time from now, but he’s already saving his pennies. Sweet boy.
He says there’s gonna be all sorts of folks there. Some you cheer for, some you boo. He’s got his favorites, these WWE Superstars he calls them. He’s hoping they’ll be there. Says it’s gonna be wild, everyone yelling and screaming. He says folks will be fallin’ outta their seats from all the excitement. I told him, “Well, you be careful, don’t go falling outta your seat!” He just laughed.
- Monday Night Raw
- Friday Night SmackDown
- NXT 2.0
- WrestleMania
- Royal Rumble
- SummerSlam
He says you can buy these WWE tickets. Says there are these WWE Live events, all sorts of things with names I can’t even remember. I think he said something about a, WrestleMania. Sounds fancy. He mentioned Royal Rumble and SummerSlam. Oh, I tell ya, it’s a whole different world these days.
He showed me more on his phone, about getting good seats to watch the WWE: Smackdown events in DC. Says you gotta get these “verified tickets” at good prices. Sounds complicated to me. I told him, “Just make sure you can see those big fellas, that’s all that matters.” He agreed, but he’s got it all figured out, this internet thing, it’s amazing what you can find on there.
My grandson, he wants to be a wrestler one day, a WWE Superstar. Says you gotta train for years. They need at least 3-5 years, he said. He’s been watching all these wrestling shows, practicing his moves. I tell him to be careful, don’t want him getting hurt. He says some wrestlers go straight into WWE, from college wrestling or other sports. He’s hoping he can be one of those.
He told me about this thing called Armageddon Meet & Greet Session, in some place called Providence, RI. He wants to meet the Superstars in person. I was just an old lady, don’t know much about these things. He’s been askin’ if we can go, but that’s too far away. He says there’s a email to write to, *@*. Maybe they will come to Washington DC, so he can meet them. I hope for him. He’s such a good boy.
He’s all excited about these “presale codes.” Says you gotta sign up for emails and follow them on some things called Twitter and Instagram. He says the codes are easy to guess, like WWELIVE, WWERAW, or the name of the city. It’s all a bit much for me, but he’s got it all figured out. Says these WWE Live events are a big deal, especially before that WrestleMania thing. He’s trying to get tickets early, says it’s important.
I don’t know much about this WWE stuff, but seeing my grandson so happy, that’s all that matters. He’s a good boy, and if he wants to see these big fellas throw each other around, then I’m happy for him. Just hope he stays safe and doesn’t get too carried away. It’s a whole different world out there, but as long as he’s happy, that’s all that counts. WWE in Washington DC, well, I’ll be. He’s counting down the days, I can tell ya that much!
