Okay, so today I was messing around with “Zenless Zone Zero,” and I got really hooked on this “Nostalgic Girl” vibe. I wanted to see if I could recreate that feeling, that specific aesthetic. So I started digging around.

First, I played the game for like, two hours straight. Just soaking it all in, you know? The cityscapes, the character designs, the way the light hits everything… I was taking mental notes of all the little details.
Finding the Vibe
I started with the color palette. Lots of muted tones, kind of washed-out, but with these pops of neon, like a flickering sign in the rain.
Then went to find some pictures from the internet, I even checked out some fan art to see how other people were interpreting the style.
- Muted background colors
- Neon highlights
- A sense of loneliness, but also energy
Putting It Together
After collecting for a while, I decided I tried to take a screenshot from the game, and put it up on my screen.
I just stared at these images and screenshot, trying to absorb the atmosphere, the “Nostalgic Girl” energy. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like a mix of melancholy and excitement, you know?
It’s still a works, but I’m feeling pretty good about where it’s headed. It’s all about capturing that feeling, that “Nostalgic Girl” essence. And I think got it.
